Make holidays FUN! Create "Leprachaun Traps" for St. Patty's Day, Ressurrection eggs for Easter, ect. Have kids be involved in holiday decorating, baking and creating your unique family traditions.
Change out your kids' toothbrushes regularly, especially after an illness. Worn toothbrushes are ineffective. Beware of toothbrushes that can tear and create a choking hazard. Firefly Kids makes fun toothbrushes that light up for the duration your child should be brushing.
Have a first aid kit in your car and home. Clearly mark the expiration date outside. You kit can include anything you like: band-aids, medical tape, small scissors, gauze, kids tylenol, kids benadryl, a barf bag, packets of Pedialite, Neoporin or topical cream for cuts, insect bite treatment (i.e. Bactine). You can also keep an earthquake kit in your car.
For travel first aid kit, you can include all of the above, as well as Claratin, Benadryl and Motrin for adults. You can include the back of the packages if that's easier. Emetrol or anti-nausea syrup is good for car sickness or sea sickness. Essential oils can be beneficial as well.
